Acting

Allen first became involved in acting as an “Extra” on TV shows and movies when he moved to Vancouver in 1993.  Over 10 years later he returned to it via Musical Theater. 

Musical Theater

Since 2004 Allen has performed as:

• 'Eugene Fodor' in the Theater Under the Stars production of “Crazy For You”
• A villager in the Applause! Musical Society production of “The Bakers Wife”
• 'Maude' the bar-keep in the Footlight Theaters production of “Bye Bye Birdie”
• 'Mayor Shinn's' understudy in the Royal City Musical Society’s production of “The Music Man”
• 'Bailiff' and 'Monarchist' in the Theater Under the Stars production of “Can-Can”

Film & Theater

Since fall 2007 Allen has been involved with student film productions, as well as local theater. He appeared as 'Jim Humble' in the First Impressions Theater Company's production of "Humble Boy" where he “underplayed to perfection the role of the gardener in this little English Eden’ – Martin Millerchip (North Shore News). He was also the 'Master of Ceremonies' for the fourth year at the "Angels Off Broadway" concert to benefit the Living Through Loss Counseling Society of BC.

Training

Since 2004 Allen has undertaken formal training with:

• Studio 58 – Actors intensive workshop
• Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts – Actors Intensive and On-Going Scene Study
• Vancouver Theater Sports – Improv 100, Character Study 201 and Monday Night Workouts
